Thursday, October 30th, 2008Only 1 day left! Tomorrow brings the apocalypse as heshers, weirdos, hipsters, and zombies abound will march towards the grounds of the Shrine Expo Hall for the HARD Haunted Mansion. Shit’s SOLD OUT!
Best of all, the kids you know and love long time, N.A.S.A. will be killing the living dead with a monstrous live DJ set starting at 9 in the P.M. at the Expo Stage. They’re gonna have crazy live visuals being chopped n’ screwed to match their set. All the horror classics bumpin’ n’ grindin’ along to the beats!
As a special treat they plan on debuting their sick new remix of the classic Halloween theme, Michael’s Revenge. Keep an eye out for that at this here blog in the near future.
If HARD wasn’t epic enough for you and you just can’t keep keeping on without more N.A.S.A. in your life (or you missed out on the sold out HARD tickets), make sure to make room in your busy schedule to come on over to Temporary Spaces on Saturday night.
A great chance to check out Sam n’ Ze in a more intimate n’ casual setting. Their gonna be bringing the flavor all night long with Mid City West and Sean Patrick. Don’t miss it!
PARTY RECORD THURSDAYS: Q-TIP
Thursday, October 30th, 2008There’s a new Q-Tip album coming out on THE BIG DAY next week and guess what? It’s GOOD!
Luckily the man the kids call Kamaal has decided to go back to his roots a bit and gives the people some soulful organic grooves to vibe to. A real nice timeless (if not 90′s) feel to the record. Pick it up, you’ll dig it.
Here’s what he had to say about it….
“The Renaissance is significant because for some time now people have questioned the integrity of hip hop. I feel like the time is ideal for something that has a revisionist spirit to it.”
MANWOMANBOOGIE is most definitely the party record of the bunch. That break is slick.

Wednesday, October 29th, 2008Seeing as it’s Halloween in a couple days, I figured I’d stick with the scary shit and hit you with some Thriller action.
The quintessential and probably the best Halloween related song ever produced has gotst to be old school MJ’s magnum opus.
From the classic Hollywood short “film” to the red leather rocking yellow cat eyes to the creepy crawly slitherings of Vincent Price, this one will live on forever. Buaaaah AH AH AH AH!!!

DJ MUJAVA – TOWNSHIP FUNK
Tuesday, October 28th, 2008
DJ MUJAVA is a South African DJ. He was raised in the Pretorian town of Attridgeville He is the man of the hour.
His banging Kwaito track “Township Funk” was released on Warp Records back in September and has been getting mad love from all sortsa powerhouse heavyweight DJs around the globe like Gilles Peterson, Erol Alkan, Sinden and Squeak E. Clean homey Diplo.
Apparently, he got started by passing his demo CD to taxi drivers around town, who in turn passed the word around. Now that’s grass roots son!
The video’s nitty gritty and oh so proper, don’t ya think?! People are lapping this shit up, some are even calling it the track of the year…
And as an extra special bonus here’s a sick remix by DJ Rob 3…
