Prince’s slinking, pulsating 80’s jam that he wrote from the viewpoint of a fine assed nasty freak in the sheets (aka Apollonia) gets the house treatment on this one and the results are solid gold.

Tuesday, January 27th, 2009MAKING OF DOCUMENTARY TRAILER
Tuesday, January 27th, 2009As we’re all getting ready for Sam to rock the house tonight at Cinespace (see previous post for details), we wanted to be sure to remind you we are all set to unveil the fresh to def “Making Of” N.A.S.A.’s “Spirit of Apollo” documentary tonight at 9:30 p.m (along with a handful of videos from the album) before the DJ’s do their thing.

N.A.S.A. RECORD RELEASE PARTIES
Monday, January 26th, 2009A whole new era is upon us as Sam n’ Ze are just about ready to embark on a United States & European tour.
It all blasts off here in Los Angeles with our record release parties at Cinespace TOMORROW January 27th with special guests Low Bee, Them Jeans and Dan Oh and then just a couple of days later in NYC on Thursday January 29th at Le Poisson Rouge with special guests Eli Escobar and Devlin & Darko.
For these first two dates, Sam will be representing for N.A.S.A. as Ze will be spinning down in Brazil making booties go crazy until they once again join forces on the cobblestones in London on February 6th.
Seems like the perfect way to kick off the N.A.S.A. tour. Sam in the U.S. and Ze in Brazil, simultaneously spreading that N.A.S.A. Music to completely different crowds in completely different cities across the world.

“THE SPIRIT OF APOLLO” COVER ART!
Monday, January 26th, 2009Left to Right: Sage Vaughn. Top: Mark Gonzalez, Shepard Fairey. Bottom: Marcel Dzama, The Date Farmers.
There are 5, count ‘em 5, versions of the cover that will come with every album purchased. With each disc will be a sleeve for you to display your favorite piece or, if you’d like, you can swap them out with each other as many times as you see fit.
The 5 versions were created by Squeak E. Clean homies and artistic heavyweights Sage Vaughn, Mark Gonzalez, Shepard Fairey, Marcel Dzama and The Date Farmers all of whom dug deep and came out with brilliantly different interpretations of the N.A.S.A. concept. Head on over to Blender.com and cast a vote for your favorite version HERE!
Not only did they contribute a cover, but each artist’s work will also be featured in videos for songs off of “The Spirit of Apollo”. The first one being Shepard Fairey’s signature stylings in the video for “Money” featuring David Byrne, Chuck D., Ras Congo, Seu Jorge and Z-Trip. If you haven’t already, be sure to go check it out on the N.A.S.A. Media Player over there on the right hand side of this here blog.
