HIP HOP TWOSDAYS

mos-def_ecstatic

In celebration of Mos Def’s return to form with today’s release of “The Ecstatic”, I thought I’d bless you guys with a couple of standout tracks from the album which was no doubt inspired by countless different global & funkdafied things but most especially the book “The Ecstatic” by Victor Lavalle (album title) and the film “Killer of Sheep” by Charles Burnett (a still from the film graces the album cover).

You’ll be glad to know that “The Ecstatic” is rock solid throughout with some help on the M-I-C from Slick Rick, Talib Kweli, & Georgia Anne Muldrow as well as help on the boards from Oh No, Madlib, Chad Hugo, Preservation, Mr. Flash & J. Dilla.
