Tongue in cheek skateboarding at its best right here.  Wait for the 3:20 mark, I hope you will laugh as hard as I did.  Or maybe I’m just an asshole…

DE SIGNER – NOUS NOUS

Thursday, May 20th, 2010

Check out that new new new ish from the cooler-than-you kids over at Le Branche.  JMV, Rob English, Audrey, and Ant R. Franco stand behind the simple formula of 4 humans and their machines to create music you’d never thought you’d hear but somehow always wanted to.

De Signer’s latest and greatest album Nous Nous is set to hit the streets on July 1st and their hypnotic-retro-heartbreak, synth-laden minimal style will be sure to keep the black top heat wavin’ for the foreseeable future.

Keep tabs on them over at DE SIGNER RULES THE WORLD for news, updates, album release info, dates, etc.

SUN RA TOASTS PINK ELEPHANTS

Wednesday, May 19th, 2010

This whacked out cover by Sun Ra of Dumbo’s “Pink Elephants” is off of the kinda weird but mostly cool as hell album “Stay Awake”; a collection of various interpretations of music from vintage Disney films.

They’ve got an interesting assortment of artists ranging from Buster Poindexter, Aaron Neville, The Replacements, Was(Not Was), Harry Nilsson, Ringo Starr and best of all, Squeak E. Clean homie Tom Waits!

Check out this version of “Heigh Ho” bka “The Dwarfs Marching Song” done in the only way Tom knows how…

HIP HOP IS BUGGIN’ WAY OUT

buggin-out

A couple slices of modern hip hop pie for you today.  First one is monster voiced Chali 2na’s latest single off his new solo album “Fish Market Part 2″.

It’s produced by none other than the current dub step crossover king, Rusko, and Chali successfully rides that squirmy beat like a motherfucking centipede.  So ill!

CHALI 2NA – GADGET GO GO (PROD. BY RUSKO)

Next up is a remix of KRS‘ classic anthem “Step Into A World” by Moombahton founder and flag bearer, Dave Nada, who transforms it into something completely insane which will be punishing dance floors all summer.

It’s the last track on his new EP “Punk Rock Latino” and you can grab the whole thing over at T&A right HERE.  Get in while the gettins good!
