TALKING ABOUT DIAMONDS
Watched Paul Simon’s “Classic Album” DVD for Graceland twice yesterday. Great way to spend a Sunday. Kinda wish I was at that show in S. Africa back in the ’80′s. Don’t you?
Legend has it they didn’t record “Diamonds On The Soles Of Her Shoes” until after the album was initially finished b/c the label wanted to push the release date. So when they were all in NYC together to perform on SNL they said “fuck it, let’s get in the studio and bang out another one”. Classic indeed.
