KALEIDOSCOPIC NEW YORK CITY

Monday, August 16th, 2010
Hey Yo!  Come witness history Wednesday night, August 18th, in NYC as The Standard New York comes alive with harmonically synchronized light and sound courtesy of the one, the only Squeak E. Clean himself. Target will host a fashion show on the street level while inside the hotel, 66 dancers will perform choreography synchronized with fast-paced lighting patterns set to Sam's music score in 150 different rooms, using the glass walls of the hotel to display a huge multi-floor extravaganza, highlighting their Fall 2010 styles. Crazy, huh?!  Best part is it's all open to the public and they're even doing a live broadcast via stream on Target's Facebook page for all those not lucky enough to be in NYC this week. Sam's been working long and hard on the score with a 30 piece orchestra at Frank Sinatra's old stomping grounds, Capitol Records here in Los Angeles, so you know this is gonna be an event to remember for years to come. DETAILS: They're will be a prime (traffic-free!) public viewing area on Little W. 12th St. b/w Washington and 10th Ave. Guests can enter on either Washington or 10th Avenue up until 8:30pm, at which point all will be directed to the 10th Ave. entrance. For more info go check out the Target website HERE or their Facebook page HERE. Show starts at exactly 9 PM so don't be late!

N.A.S.A. CHASES THE DEVIL

Tuesday, August 10th, 2010

A few months back, N.A.S.A. linked up with British mainstay Doc Martens to participate in their "50 Years of Doc Martens" campaign.

Squeak E. Clean and the N.A.S.A. crew were kindly asked to cover the classic reggae track "Chase the Devil" by Max Romeo for the project.

Not only did they get to do their own rendition of a legendary song, they also teamed up with music legend Don Letts who directed the amazing animated video.

The results were released just recently for the world to see. Peep the making-of video above and the finished product below.  Then go aheand and click HERE to download the song for FREE...

THIS VIDEO IS STRANGE ENOUGH

Friday, July 16th, 2010

N.A.S.A.'s "Strange Enough" featuring Karen O of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Fat Lip from the Pharcyde, and the late great O.D.B. of the Wu-Tang Clan is, was and always will be a certified banger with its infectious hook, bumpin' beat and the last recorded verses by Russell Jones (not to mention the ill back n' forth help from our man Fat Lip) .

It's been a long time coming but we're excited to announce that today, in conjunction with our homies over at Boing Boing, we've got the crazy whacked out visuals to share with you to complement that delicious audio like cheese n' crackers.

The video is directed by Lorna T and Studio Giblets, produced by Terence Teh and features the most excellent original artwork of the brilliant Brazilian Stephan Doitschinoff aka "Calma".
