PRESIDENTIAL MELODY DUB’D
Tuesday, September 21st, 2010Two of the classiest of hip hop classics right here for you on that dubbed out B-side tip. So raw, so simple, so so good. These are off the 12″ that came out way back in 1986. Nostalgia!
THE ENEMY TELLIN’ U TO HEAR IT
Wednesday, September 15th, 2010“Hey Yo Chuck, Man! You gotta slow down, man. You losin’ ‘em!” – Flavor Flav
In hindsight it looks like Chuck D was literally a prophet of rage. Way back in 1998 when the internet was young, scary and unpredictable (eh?), Chuck said “fuck the bullshit” and put out a 27 track “mega mix” of past hits, b-sides, new joints and re-mixes for free on Public Enemy’s webiste called Bring The Noise 2000.
Needless to say their label freaked out worse than your mom when she heard your 12 year old ass blasting “Can’t Truss It” and deaded the whole thing real quick fast.
Thanks to that same shady/crafty internet the scrapped project is back for all you fiends to dive in to. Featured here are two of their classics with new twists on them.
The Bomb Squad shines brightly here while Chuck’s vocals are pushed to the background but I’m not complaining, they are indeed the illest. If you like what you hear, g’head and grab the entire thing FOR FREE right here.

LADIES FIRST & FOREMOST
Tuesday, July 13th, 2010
What’s up ladies?! Got something for ya! The two sexy members of the original Native Tongues family put it down for the females with their explosive hit “Ladies First” back in 1989 that had everyone and there little brothers checking for Monie’s debut a year later.
Right here’s the title track with a nice lil’ edit by the funky German Alkalino followed by a rendition of one the Queen’s classics off her debut, “All Hail The Queen” masterminded by Boston’s 7L who used the beat from Bobby Konders’ ’92 ragga hip hop jam “Mack Daddy” to put a Jamaican spin on tingz. The early ’90′s ruled, huh?

R>I>P> RAMMELLZEE
Tuesday, June 29th, 2010
One of the original pioneers in both the M.C. and graffiti fields of hip hop, Rammellzee was a huge influence to countless young b-boys all over the world as he was a big part of two of the most important hip hop films ever: Wild Style and Style Wars.

From bombing trains with Dondi to having Jean-Michel Basquiat design the cover art to his single “Beat Bop” to rocking a quick but memorable cameo in Jim Jarmusch’s Stranger Than Paradise, this dude was the coolest!
Here’s one of his more famous joints which was featured in Style Wars…
