WORLD PREMIERE OF N.A.S.A. FILM!
Thursday, July 28th, 2011
Hey Yo! We are excited to announce that the highly anticipated N.A.S.A. film, “The Spirit Of Apollo”, is all set to wow on-lookers at its World Premiere this coming Tuesday, August 2nd at the Hammer Museum in Westwood, CA as part of the always fantastic Flux Screening Series. The film is an intimate look behind the making of N.A.S.A.’s globetrotting debut album that traces the ongoing creative collaboration between two lifelong music aficionados, Squeak E. Clean (aka Sam Spiegel) and Zegon (aka Ze Gonzales), and their musical heroes.
The film also includes visual collaborations with artists Shepard Fairey, Sage Vaughan, Marcel Dzama, The Date Farmers and animators Syd Garon, Logan, Fluorescent Hill, Three Legged Legs, Splunny, and Lorenzo Fonda. As a special treat, some of these amazing artists (Syd Garon, Fluorescent Hill, Lorenzo Fonda, Sage Vaughan, The Date Farmers and Three Legged Legs) will be in attendance.

On the bonus tip, the screening event will also feature Spike Jonze’s new Beastie Boys + Santigold music video “Don’t Play No Game That I Can’t Win”. Which is awesome!
So it turns out that the screening is just the meat in a crazy party sandwich as there will be a pre-screening reception starting at 7pm with our boy DJ KnewJack and a wicked after-party starting at 9:30 featuring a live set by N.A.S.A. themselves. While the party people are getting down in the crowd, the fine folks at Hit + Run will be busting out one-of-a-kind N.A.S.A. t-shirts for all those that want to look fly & freshly dipped.
Come through and cool out with us!

A TRIBE CALLED BEST
Wednesday, July 6th, 2011
Big congrats to our big homie, editor Lenny Messina (he cut the N.A.S.A. documentary trailer), as the documentary he sweated over for countless hours “Beats Rhymes & Life: The Travels of A Tribe Called Quest” has been gaining major props around the country and debuted here at the LA Film Festival a couple weeks back. The night was a huge success as the film ended up taking home the Audience Award for Best Documentary Feature. Yeah!
If you haven’t seen it yet, do yourself a favor and scoop up tickets as fast you can for the film’s debut at the Arclight this weekend. Even if you’re not a fan of hip hop, this film will sink into your soul and grab on from the get go. An incredible film with an incredible story about an incredible journey filled with incredible music. Shit’s incredible!
And with the film’s debut at a major cinema, you know there’s a party goin’ down to celebrate. An all star line-up is getting together tomorrow night with director Michael Rappaport and Phife Dawg hosting. Check out all the details on the flyer below…
