Skinny Friedman does a nice job of putting a lil' pep in Beach House's step on this remix of their stand out track "Norway".  Best served with a dark n' stormy and a couple sprigs of mint...

KALEIDOSCOPIC NEW YORK CITY

Hey Yo!  Come witness history Wednesday night, August 18th, in NYC as The Standard New York comes alive with harmonically synchronized light and sound courtesy of the one, the only Squeak E. Clean himself. Target will host a fashion show on the street level while inside the hotel, 66 dancers will perform choreography synchronized with fast-paced lighting patterns set to Sam's music score in 150 different rooms, using the glass walls of the hotel to display a huge multi-floor extravaganza, highlighting their Fall 2010 styles. Crazy, huh?!  Best part is it's all open to the public and they're even doing a live broadcast via stream on Target's Facebook page for all those not lucky enough to be in NYC this week. Sam's been working long and hard on the score with a 30 piece orchestra at Frank Sinatra's old stomping grounds, Capitol Records here in Los Angeles, so you know this is gonna be an event to remember for years to come. DETAILS: They're will be a prime (traffic-free!) public viewing area on Little W. 12th St. b/w Washington and 10th Ave. Guests can enter on either Washington or 10th Avenue up until 8:30pm, at which point all will be directed to the 10th Ave. entrance. For more info go check out the Target website HERE or their Facebook page HERE. Show starts at exactly 9 PM so don't be late!

TALKING ABOUT DIAMONDS

Watched Paul Simon's "Classic Album" DVD for Graceland twice yesterday.  Great way to spend a Sunday.  Kinda wish I was at that show in S. Africa back in the '80's.  Don't you?

Legend has it they didn't record "Diamonds On The Soles Of Her Shoes" until after the album was initially finished b/c the label wanted to push the release date.  So when they were all in NYC together to perform on SNL they said "fuck it, let's get in the studio and bang out another one".  Classic indeed.
